Our journey to create The Farm We moved to Spokane Washington in early March of 2017, it was just Suzanne and I (Brian). Having never been to this part of Washington, in fact we only had been to Seattle one time, we had no clue what we were in for. We arrived and there was still snow on the ground. “What is this white stuff?” Being from Californian we have been to the snow, but never lived in it. Spokane is so different from where we have lived, Oakland, Poway, Honolulu, San Francisco, and other places in California. Here in Spokane there are four seasons or as the locals like to say five, because the months of August and September the sky’s are covered in smoke from all the fires going on in the surrounding area, Montana, Canada, Oregon, etc… The winters are long and cold, the days are short and you can’t wait for it to just be over. Spring and Autumn are fill with all the colors you can imagine. All the reds and browns of the trees as they head towards their long winter nap. Then from the earth comes the greens, then the yellows, pink, purple and so many other colors of life as the plants and trees wake form their winter slumber. Guess this is gonna be home. We settled in, the thought of owning our own place with some land became our goal. Starting in early 2018, the hunt was on. We saw some places but they were either too far from town or they just didn’t fit. One day we found a listing for a place built in 1914 on almost 6 acres, We had to go see it.
